Let's see, ingredients for a little boy - Dirt, bugs, water, more dirt, worms, sand, smiles, laughter, messes and on and on.
Being the mom-to-be of a little boy, I remember reading the first chapter of Dr. James Dobson's book Bringing Up Boys. The first chapter caught my attention with sentences such as, "Boys are usually (but not always) tougher to raise than their sisters are... boys are designed to be more assertive, audacious, and excitable than girls are... little aggressive machines...etc." Of course, I can't compare him to a little girl yet but, I think he may be right.
Regardless, I'm enjoying my little "aggressive machine" so much these days. Despite the occasional temper tantrums, messes, fearlessness, new found weapon of pinching others to get what he wants...etc. Thank goodness for other mothers with boys, you know what I'm talking about.
I'm just starting a book called What the Bible Says About...Child Training by J. Richard Fugate (Thank you dear Parent-in-laws). I'm praying that it will give me some good insight and advice with my duty as a mother.
Here are a few recent pictures of Edward. He was playing at his friends house and wound up in the dirt, how unusual.

What a cutie. He's already making faces like his granpa Heller! Let us know what you think of the book.
As a mom of 2 boys - I can say I completely agree! They are always dirty and wrestling and breaking things, but they bring us so much joy! What little blessings! You're guy sure is a cutie!
Your baby is turning into a little boy. That IS such a Heller face!
I love boys. yours looks like he is going to be lots of fun! And you won't have to worry about him sneaking out of the house in a little bikini or mini-skirt. they are much more "open" with their trouble!
That face is adorable! :) I know what you mean about boys - they are busy and messy, but they are fun!
I totally hear you!
Edward is so adorable, I love your pictures.
I miss the little guy! I had so much fun with him hanging around his swingset. His faces are hilarious!
He's so adorable! Trust me, you'll have many more messes to come! Today, for instance, Timothy has already eaten a cricket and some green play dough. And it's only noon. Sigh!
I love it when boys are ALL boy. Granted I don't have to clean up after one... :o)
